Popis: Introduction and objective: We currently live a nutritional transition characterized by an increase in cases of overweight. In this aspect, an interdisciplinary action can help in choosing appropriate actions to improve the quality of life of individuals. The objective of the study was to evaluate the relative risk of socioeconomic, anthropometric and biochemical variables on the nutritional status of adolescents. Materials and methods: Fifty-four adolescents of both genders, aged between 10 and 18, participated in the study. Weight, height and waist circumference (WC) were measured for later calculations of Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist Stature Ratio (RCE) and Body Fat Percentage (% GC). Blood pressure (BP) and blood collection for determination of total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides (TG) and glucose were also measured.
