This crisis of the igua?uana citriculture developed throughout the 50's, and with that, subjects active in politics and society as a whole, found themselves inserted in a new economic and social perspective, where the main economic product of Nova Igua?u no longer met the demands of the elite and the local society, while there was, from the Federal Government, an intense stimulus to the urbanization and industrialization in the national scope. This work aims to understand what were the actions established by these acting subjects in Nova Igua?u, which was a peripheral municipality of the State of Rio de Janeiro, in seeking to attract industries to the region, after the crisis of local citrus, and with the national policy -developmentist, implemented by the Federal Government in force in the 1950s Este trabalho visa apresentar as a??es tomadas pelos indiv?duos que viviam no munic?pio de Nova Igua?u, em um per?odo em que o plantio e o com?rcio de laranjas, que era a principal base econ?mica do munic?pio, se encontravam em crise.
