Percepção da qualidade de vida e sintomas ansiosos e depressivos de pacientes oncológicos em tratamento quimioterápico: um comparativo entre usuários de um serviço público e um privado

Popis: OBJECTIVE: To compare the perception of quality of life and the presence of anxious and depressive symptoms of patients undergoing chemotherapy, users of a public hospital and a private hospital in the city of Maceió/AL.METHODS: Observational cross-sectional study, carried out with patients undergoing oncologic treatment with chemotherapy in a public and private hospital in Maceió from November 2015 to July 2016. The QV was evaluated using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Core Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC) and the presence of anxiety and depressive symptoms were observed by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD). The collected data were organized in electronic database and analyzed quantitatively through statistical software Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), respecting the distribution nature of the studied variables.RESULTS: The sample consisted of 65 patients, 33 (50.9%) were attended in a hospital that was contracted to the Unified Health System (SUS) and 32 (49.1%) in the private hospital. The mean age was 54.2 years (±11.8 SD), with no difference between groups (p=0.184). Much of the sample was female (67.7%).
