However, this steel has low corrosion resistance in acid medium. Natural inhibitors do not emit toxic or harmful components to the environment, they are renewable, may have a lower cost, besides guaranteeing environmental sustainability and the use of natural residues. Studies reveal that the Juca (Caesalpinia ferrea) found in the Amazon has excellent antioxidant capacity. Juca extract in different concentrations (0.1 to 2.0 g.L-1) was used on the study of green corrosion inhibitor. Electrochemical analyzes were performed in an electrochemical cell composed of a working electrode of AISI 1020 steel. Measurements of Open Circuit Potential (OCP), Resistance to Linear Polarization (RLP) and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) were performed. Electrochemical methods have equivalent results for comparison purposes. Results confirm that the Juca extract acts as a mixed inhibitor of corrosion in AISI 1020 steels, where the inhibition efficiency was 94.8% in the concentration of 2.0 g.L-1. The adsorption was described and characterized by the Isotherm of Langmuir???s Adsorption and the value of ??Goads, which revealed the occurrence of adsorption by physisorption. SEM and FEG-SEM indicated that the surface morphology of the substrate, in the presence of the Juca extract is composed of a compact, uniform and amorphous film, after the electrochemical tests. UV-Vis analyzes confirm the reduction of iron ions transfer to the solution as the inhibitor concentration is increased, proving the effectiveness of the inhibitor. O a??o AISI 1020 ?? um dos mais utilizados na ind??stria para fabrica????o de m??quinas e equipamentos. No entanto, este a??o apresenta baixa resist??ncia a corros??o em meio ??cido. Os inibidores naturais n??o emitem componentes t??xicos ou nocivos ao meio ambiente, s??o renov??veis, podem ter menor custo, al??m de garantir a sustentabilidade ambiental e a utiliza????o de res??duos naturais. Estudos revelam que o Juc?? (Caesalpinia f??rrea) encontrado na Amaz??nia possui excelente capacidade antioxidante. Para o estudo de inibidor verde de corros??o foi utilizado o extrato da casca do Juc??, em diferentes concentra????es (0,1 a 2,0 g.L-1). As an??lises eletroqu??micas foram realizadas em uma c??lula eletroqu??mica no qual o eletrodo de trabalho foi o a??o AISI 1020. Medidas de Potencial de Circuito Aberto (Eca), Resist??ncia ?? Polariza????o Linear (RPL) e de Espectroscopia de Imped??ncia Eletroqu??mica (EIE) foram realizadas. Os m??todos eletroqu??micos utilizados apresentam resultados pr??ximos, para efeito de compara????o. Os resultados comprovam que o extrato de Juc?? atua como inibidor misto de corros??o em a??os AISI 1020, onde a efici??ncia de inibi????o foi de 94,8% na concentra????o de 2,0 g.L-1. A adsor????o foi descrita e caracterizada pela Isoterma de Adsor????o de Langmuir e o valor de ??Goads, que revelaram a ocorr??ncia de adsor????o por fisissor????o. Microscopia Eletr??nica de Varredura (MEV) e Microscopia Eletr??nica de Varredura com Canh??o de El??trons por Emiss??o de Campo (MEV-FEG) indicaram que a morfologia da superf??cie do substrato na presen??a do extrato de Juc?? ?? composta por um filme compacto, uniforme e amorfo, ap??s os ensaios eletroqu??micos. A an??lise de UV-Vis confirma a redu????o de transfer??ncia de ??ons de ferro para a solu????o ?? medida que se aumenta a concentra????o do inibidor, comprovando a efic??cia do inibidor. |
