| Popis: | Objective: To describe the epidemiological situation of congenital syphilis (SC) in the Southeast region of Brazil from 2016 to 2018, noting whether there are significant differences in the analyzed variables.Material and Methods: Prevalence study based on official data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health. The analysis was conducted by adopting tests to compare means and proportions with significance at 0.05.Results: Minas Gerais showed the largest percentage increase in the number and detection rate in the region. Rio de Janeiro (average: 3,982.3 ± 451.59) and São Paulo (average: 3,902.0 ± 208.2) had the highest records, being significantly larger than Espírito Santo (average: 599.6 ± 40.5). The comparison between the state averages revealed p = 0.0237.
