Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? The exploration of natural resources is one of the most detrimental activities affecting the natural dynamics of ecosystems. The mining of ornamental rocks in the Serra do Espinha?o has developed, contributing to regional socioeconomic development, to the point that it is also responsible for the suppression of large areas of natural vegetation. Given the current mining legislation, companies compromise to mitigate environmental impacts through conservation strategies, among them, the rescue of species, study of this work. In view of this scenario, the objective of the present work is to establish rescue protocols for two endemic species of the Southern Espinha?o: Cipocereus minensis and Syagrus glaucescens, and to test protocol efficiency through statistical efficiency. For Cipocereus minensis the survival of four types of fragmentation (without fragmentation and stem cuttings of 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm) under different levels of shading (full sunlight, 50 and 80%) was tested. In the case of Syagrus glaucescens, its survival and mean chlorophyll content were evaluated according to three size classes (small, medium and large) and four different levels of shading (full sunlight, 30%, 50% and 80%). The result of this study corroborated the efficiency of the methodology as well as the best conditions for the accommodation of post-rescue individuals.
