The main objective of this research was to identify and analyze the process of continuous training of teachers at the SJE campus, assessing the reflections of the PhD training in Phytotechnics in the teaching career, in their pedagogical practice, in student training and in institutional and local development. The research was set up as an empirical case study with a qualitative approach and quantitative support to support the analyzes and interpretation of the data. The collection of data was based upon documentary analysis of Laws, Decrees, Resolutions, Records and records of documents in files of the Sector of People Management of SJE. The techniques and instruments used in the continuity of the research were observation, questionnaire given to the eleven professors participating in the specified doctorate, interview with two managers who participated in the negotiations to implement the accomplishment of this doctorate, documentary research and functional records of servers. Initially the study of the theoretical reference was made to support the field work. Thus, the historical contextualisation of Professional and Technological Education (EPT) was made in Brazil, in the period between the industrialization process of the country up to the present moment, in order to understand the influence of the productive process on the educational system. It also addressed teacher education for EPT, seeking considerations about the knowledge needed for the teacher of this type of education. The data were analyzed by means of tables and graphs, and the speeches were compared with the theoretical reflections. Through this research, it is believed that it was possible to elucidate situations about continuing education at the SJE campus, contributing to a reflection on professional education in technical and technological education institutions, and it was found that this type of education has contributed to the research and extension activities, but has been threatened by the current political and economic moment. O presente trabalho apresenta uma an?lise sobre a forma??o continuada dos docentes no processo de expans?o do Instituto Federal de Minas Gerais (IFMG) ? Campus S?o Jo?o Evangelista (SJE). O objetivo principal dessa investiga??o foi identificar e analisar o processo de forma??o continuada dos docentes do campus SJE, apurando os reflexos da forma??o do doutorado em Fitotecnia na carreira docente, em sua pr?tica pedag?gica, na forma??o discente e no desenvolvimento institucional e local. A pesquisa configurou-se como um estudo de caso de base emp?rica, com abordagem qualitativa e suporte quantitativo para subsidiar as an?lises e interpreta??es dos dados. Para a coleta de dados foi utilizada an?lise documental de Leis, Decretos, Resolu??es, Editais e registros de documentos em Arquivos do Setor de Gest?o de Pessoas de SJE. As t?cnicas e instrumentos utilizados na continuidade da investiga??o foram observa??o, question?rio aplicado aos onze docentes participantes do doutorado especificado, entrevista com dois gestores que participaram das negocia??es para implementar a realiza??o desse doutorado, pesquisa documental e registros funcionais de servidores. Inicialmente foi feito o estudo do referencial te?rico para embasar o trabalho de campo. Assim, foi feita a contextualiza??o hist?rica da Educa??o Profissional e Tecnol?gica (EPT) no Brasil, no per?odo compreendido entre o processo de industrializa??o do pa?s at? o presente momento, para compreens?o da influ?ncia do processo produtivo no sistema educacional. Tamb?m se abordou a forma??o docente para a EPT, buscando considera??es sobre os saberes necess?rios ao professor dessa modalidade de ensino. Os dados foram analisados por meio de quadros e gr?ficos, e as falas foram comparadas com as reflex?es te?ricas. Por meio dessa investiga??o, acredita-se que foi poss?vel elucidar situa??es sobre a forma??o continuada no campus SJE, contribuindo para uma reflex?o sobre a educa??o profissional nas institui??es de ensino t?cnico e tecnol?gico, bem como se verificou que essa modalidade de educa??o tem contribu?do para o desenvolvimento de pesquisas e atividades de extens?o, por?m tem sofrido amea?as pelo atual momento pol?tico-econ?mico.
