Oxidized LDL is considered a critical factor in the atherosclerotic process and the aim of our study was evaluate the absorbance of different wavelengths of oxidized phospholipids and oxidation rate of LDL particles in vitro in T1DM. We studied 54 patients aged 29.1 ± 12.11 years and with a disease duration of 14.6 ± 8.43 years and 28 non-diabetic volunteers. The two groups had carried where they were measured lipid profile, glucose, uric acid, blood pressure, urinary albumin excretion and spectrophotometry analysis of the oxidation of LDL cholesterol before and 1, 3, 6 and 24 hours after addition of substance oxidant copper sulfate.
