Ilha de Guaratiba, this memorable place fixed in our hearts and minds has been being metamorphosed by the urbanizing march that reigns in its domains. I was born here. I saw the neighborhood with its rural/agricultural characteristics decades ago and now I see it being substituted by urban residential characteristics. Considering that one does not distinguish oneself from the place where one was born, this process provokes a series of spatial, environmental and existential changes about the place. This theses aims to clarify the geographies of Ilha de Guaratiba through the experiences lived and reported by its inhabitants. The symbolic and/or sentimental metamorphoses that thrive within the bulge of this spatial event should equally be highlighted in this research. Rio de Janeiro progresses with big international events and Ilha de Guaratiba sails and recedes in this olimpic perspective. Nesta jornada acadêmica, entrelaçado com o meu lugar, utilizo minha experiência vivida e, irmanado com os membros de minha coletividade, empreendo esta saga sobre o nosso universo vivido. Esse memorável lugar, inscrito em nossos corações e mentes, Ilha de Guaratiba, vem sendo metamorfoseado pela marcha urbanizadora que vige em seus domínios. Aqui nasci. Assisti o bairro com sua fisionomia rural/agrícola, em décadas anteriores, agora substituído mais fortemente pelo urbano residencial. Considerando-se que o indivíduo não se distingue de seu lugar, o processo em voga tem provocado uma série de mudanças espaciais/ambientais/existenciais sobre o lugar. Esta tese pretende descortinar as geografias de Ilha de Guaratiba utilizando, para este fim, as experiências vividas relatadas por seus moradores. As metamorfoses simbólicas e/ou sentimentais que vicejam no bojo desse evento espacial, igualmente, merecerão destaque nesta pesquisa. O Rio avança no âmbito de grandes eventos internacionais e, como tal, Ilha de Guaratiba singra e deságua nesta perspectiva olímpica. |
