A pesquisa tem como tema a leitura da linguagem verbo-visual de uma reportagem impressa e respectiva capa da revista Veja, sobre o Caso Isabella Nardoni. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é apresentar uma proposta de leitura da linguagem verbo-visual como um subsidio à formação de leitores mais críticos em relação à superdivulgação de alguns fatos. Especificamente, verificando-se a possibilidade de determinadas escolhas lexicais, sintáticas e semióticas estarem voltadas à veiculação dos fatos pelo viés interpretativo/ideológico de determinado grupo empresarial. As análises demonstram que a revista Veja, apesar de ser considerada um periódico informativo, pressupostamente imparcial e objetivo, deu um tratamento de espetáculo á informação, veiculando por meio de uma arquitetura lingüística-discursiva, o discurso que lhe interessava. Os resultados evidenciam, então, como um texto da esfera jornalística pode se constituir um veículo manipulador que se dissimula por meio de uma organização textual aparentemente marcada por objetividade e imparcialidade. Abstract: This research is based on an enunciative and discursive perspective aligned, mainly, to the Mikhail Bakhtin dialogical language theory. Its theme is the reading of the verbal-visual language of a printed report (and its cover), about Isabella Nardoni case, published by Veja Magazine. The main objective of this study is to propose a reading of the verbal-visual language as a support to design more critical readers with respect to the overexposure of some facts. Specifically, it was established as a goal of this study the investigation of linguistic and discursive mechanisms, by verifying the possibility of certain lexical, syntactic and semiotic choices are focused on the interpretation of the facts according to the interpretation/ideology of a particular business group. The analyses shows that Veja magazine, despite being considered a regular newsletter, supposedly impartial and objective, gave a spectacular approach to this information, disseminating, with a linguistic-discursive architecture, the discourse that was more interesting to the magazine. Then, the results show how a journalistic text can be a handle vehicle, by disguising this feature with a textual organization apparently marked by objectivity and impartiality.
