The aim of the research: to determine and evaluate main causes of making home medication box content and medications storage conditions practices in the city of Lentvaris. Main tasks: to evaluate main reasons of making home medication box in the city of Lentvaris; to identify the composition of family home medication boxes in the city of Lentvaris; to analyze the main causes of making home medication box content; to determine medications storage conditions and supervision of family home medication boxes. Research methods: the research participants are people from the Lentvaris. Test method - an anonymous questionnaire. 405 of it has been given to respondents, 396 were handled back (97,8 % of responsiveness). The data is processed by the use of SPSS 22.0 (statistical package for social science). Diagrams and tables have been prepared using the Microsoft Office Excel 2013. Results: The survey showed that younger respondents and respondents of working age are less concerned about their health or health problems, while older respondents or parents who have children under the age of 12 are more likely to encounter health problems and take more care of themselves or other family members' health. Conclusions: studies showed that 19 recipients (4,86 %) don’t have home medication boxes; it was noticed that home medication boxes in the city of Lentvaris mostly contain analgesics and anti-pyretics, preparations for treating colds, medicines for gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, anti-diabetics, dermatological preparations, anti-allergics and sedatives, medical and surgical bandages, food supplements, vitamins and thermometers, rarely cosmetics and hygiene products; the results of research demonstrated that the main reasons influencing home medication box content are the amount of money which limits the monthly cost of medicines, chronic and acute diseases, prescribed medicines, self-medication of research participants, the amount of family members and number of children under age of 12; it was noticed that 57,53 % of the respondents are constantly checking the expiration period of medications in their home medication boxes.
