Aid: to eveluate risk factors of the invasive pneumococcal infection it’s treatment and prognosis of the disease to the patients who have diabetes mellitus and compare it with the patients without diabetes mellitus. Objectives: 1) to compare risk factors between patients with diabetes mellitus and without, of getting an invasive pneumococcal infection; 2) to evaluate influence on the number of risk factors of getting an invasive pneumococcal infection and it’s prognosis; 3) to compare empirical antibiotic therapy for invasive pneumococcal infection and used antibiotic duration between patients with diabetes mellitus and without; 4) to evaluate invasive pneumococcal infection prognosis depending on if the patient have diabetes mellitus or not. Methods: A retrospective investigation was accomplished by analysing 2012-2016 year medical histories. Patients with IPI and diabetes mellitus were compared with patients who had only IPI.
