Popis: | Aim of the study. To evaluate tuberculosis risk factors of LSMUL KK Romainių tuberculosis hospital staff with at least 10 years of working experience in the institution. Methods. Retrospective study on the assessment of tuberculosis risk factors of LSMUL KK Romainių tuberculosis hospital staff. All of the staff were interviewed using an anonymous survey. Results. 50% of respondents are older than 55 years. 93.8% are consisted of women. 47.9% of 1st group respondents had to participate in taking sputum samples and 44.4% of 2nd group had to be involved in bronchoscopies. 34% of staff said that patients were wearing masks during their rounds and 30.9% claimed that they weren’t. 90.9% of 3rd groups respondents have an unbalanced diet and 63.6% are eating fat-rich food. 33.7% claim that their work use all the necessary management measures. 94.8% of respondents use personal protective equipment in the work environment but 16.7% don’t use them according to requirements. Most used protective measurement were hand hygiene and disposable medical gloves. 55.1% had the BCG vaccine. 25.6% of respondents come to work on sick days while having a contagious disease. Conclusion. Almost all of the respondents had a contact with a pulmonary-positive tuberculosis patient. The average contact time was 35.81 h/week. More than half of the respondents claimed that patients didn’t wear masks during rounds. Smoking and alcohol usage did not have statistical significant difference compared to demographic data. A large proportion of the staff had an unbalanced diet and 3rd group ate food rich in fat. Not all respondents knew about all of the protective management measures. Hand hygiene and disposable medical gloves were used the most as a personal protective measurement. All of the respondents had their regular health checks. |
