Popis: Author: Laura Saudargaitė Work title: Prevalence of Orthostatic Hypotension and Links with Chronic Diseases and Conditions in Older Age The aim of research: to identify the prevalence of orthostatic hypotension and the potential links to chronic diseases and conditions in older age. Research objectives: 1. to identify the prevalence of orthostatic hypotension among the older patients. 2. To identify the most commonly diagnosed chronic diseases and conditions in older patients. 3. To evaluate which chronic diseases and conditions most often lead to the occurrence of orthostatic hypotension. Research participants and methods: This perspective study included 80 patients over the age of 60, who were in that time hospitalised in the KKL Geriatrics unit. Participants were selected randomly regardless of any other existing conditions, medications taken at that time, or age. While using the patients’ medical records, the collected data sets consisted of medications currently taken by the patient, any other existing medical conditions, and laboratory test data. Moreover, the patients’ dietary habits were evaluated using the MNA questionnaire, the cognitive functions were evaluated using the MMSE questionnaire, patient’s autonomy was evaluated using the Barthel index, and risk of depression was evaluated using the GDS results. The collected data was saved anonymously and compared with the results obtained from the positional testing in order to identify a link between orthostatic hypotension and chronic illnesses and conditions in older age. In order to conduct statistical analysis with the study data SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) version 26.0 and Microsoft Excel 2010 software were used. Any finding is statistically significant if the probability value is less than 5 per cent (p
