The aim of the work was to determine the depression of the elderly and suicidal tendency. Tasks: 1. To evaluate the peculiarities of depression in elderly people. 2. Assess the suicidal tendency of elderly people. 3. Determine the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation in elderly people. Research methods: In the course of the study, it was requested to fill the questionnaires: C part of The Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI), shortened version of 15 elements Yesavage geriatric depression scale (GDS-15), as well as two additional demographic questions about age and gender. Investigators: 167 elderly patients in the LSMUL KK Family Medicine Clinic were interviewed. Results of the study: Depression was detected in 22.2% of the cases. Of these, 15.7% were women and 33.9% were men. Men’s possible depression was statistically significant (p = 0.007) more often than women’s. Low suicide risk was 7.8%, and average suicide risk was 6.6%. None of the respondents had a high suicide risk. Men's suicide risk was significantly higher (p = 0.003). Suicide risk in the age group of 75 years old and elderly was statistically significant (p = 0.017) higher than in the age of 60-74 years old group. The risk of suicide depended on depression (p
