Popis: Research were done in LUHS, Veterinary Academy, The Food Safety and Quality Department and farm X. Thesis was written in 2016-2018 year, it consists of 37 pages, 7 tables, 17 pictures. The aim of the paper – to eveluate welfare of dairy cattle in free-stall barn X. The gas test in free-stall barn was done and it showed that indicators were reached. Box dimentions and lair floor hight met requirements. Biochemical blood tests were done to 23 dairy cattle, 15 out of them was diagnosed with too low protein amount, 9 of them was diagnosed with decreased calcium and 2 of them had increased calcium. 10 dairy cattles were diagnosed with increased creatinine, 10 dairy cattles were diagnosed wtih dicreased magnesium, alkaline phosphatase was dicreased for 2 dairy cattle and increased for 1. The research of distance showed that it was possible to touch 27 dairy cattles with hand out of 40, 6 dairy cattles were 50 cm distant but it was not possible to touch them, its was possible to get from 50 cm to 100 cm distant with 4 dairy cattles and 3 dairy cattles were more than 100 cm distant. The research of cleanliness showed the dirtiness of parts (udder , limbs, sides) that was rated from 1 to 4. Parts had been rated 2 in most of the cases. The number of somatic cells in free-stall barn vary from 17 to 7626 thousands/mililiter.
