Epidemiologically, arterial hypertension is one of the most pressing health problems. Although incidence of hypertension in Lithuania is higher than in other European or World countries still lack of data about patients with arterial hypertension view of disease, their motivation for the proper use of medicines and assess their condition. The aim of the research. To evaluate and analyse needs and expectations people with arterial hypertension. The tasks of the research. To analyse needs and expectation people with uncomplicated and complicated arterial hypertension. To evaluate age and gender influence people with arterial hypertension needs and expectations. The research methodology. 382 LSMUL KK family medicine doctor patients with arterial hypertension were investigated. The authorless questionnaire was use in this research. The statistical analysis of data processed using software package SPSS 23.0 for Windows and Microsoft Excel. Results. People with complicated arterial hypertension are more motivated to improve their health, the majority of the patient’s measure blood pressure at home. As expected, people with uncomplicated arterial hypertension easier achieve target blood pressure. One tenth of the research participants are able to achieve a target blood pressure, patients older than 80 year old - do not. Less than half of respondents said taking medication on a regular basis and do not forget to use them. All respondents said that the family medicine doctor is interested in their disease control at each visit. Conclusions. Patients with uncomplicated hypertension are more likely to follow the doctor's instructions to maintain target blood pressure and to believe in the prescribed treatment efficacy, but they do not measure blood pressure at home. Patients with complicated hypertension better care of their health: measure blood pressure at home, but they are less motivated to manage their disease due to lack of confidence in their prescribed treatment. The working-age patients are most likely to follow all their doctor's recommendations, compared to the older. Men with arterial hypertension are less prone to follow all doctor's recommendations, because they believe that the doctor is not interested in the outcomes of the treatment. Women more believe prescribed treatment efficacy, but are less prone to adjust arterial hypertension risk factors. The conclusions of research could be use in everyday family medicine doctor's work, as a tool to help orientate in a short term, what message to give patients to home. |
