Aim of research: Determine the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency among patients in the department of geriatrics and the link with renal failure and nutritional deficiencies. Objectives of research: 1. To determine the prevalence of lack of vitamin D among patients in the department of geriatrics. 2. To assess the renal function of the Geriatric Patient. 3. To determine the link between vitamin D deficiency and renal failure. 4. To identify relationships between vitamin D deficiency and malnutrition. Methods of research: The research involved 358 patients of 60 and over year-old, who were hospitalized in the Departament of Geriatrics in the public institution Kaunas Clinical Hospital, in 2015-2018. Data was collected by using Microsoft Excel 2010 and SPSS 23.0 software. The selected statistical significance level was α=0,001.
