Tourist and Excursion Business in the USSR as Part of Leisure (1964–1985)

Popis: У статті висвітлено особливості розвитку туристсько-екскурсійної справи, проаналізовано політику влади в цій галузі в 1964–1985 рр. З’ясовано основні види туризму, а також роль різних організацій у становленні цього виду дозвілля. Досліджено матеріально-технічну базу та обсяги туристсько-екскурсійного обслуговування населення. On the basis of archival documents and published material critical thinking in the article analyzes the development of tourist and excursion business and studied Soviet government policy in this area. Established major tourism destinations in the country period of «stagnation»: profturizm, foreign, youth, military and tourism school. Considered as a system of organizations involved in the tour and travel business. Development of tourism in this period contributed to significant changes in the service sector, which has become a separate branch with developed infrastructure. Since the mid 1960-s pace of development of tourism and excursions grew steadily. However, the tourist industry is not able to provide all those wishing to relax in tourist enterprises and on the trails. Therefore, an effective means of manifestations of mass tourism and accessibility was an amateur tourist traffic. Amateur tourism united travel routes, which were developed by the tourists or tour offered to their clubs and groups. Continuous development of the social base of amateur tourism allowed to annually increase the number of participants, constantly engaged in tourism and backpackers weekend and multi-day hikes. But there were a lot of problems, including poor catering, low quality tourist and sightseeing and cultural activities, poor equipment and landscaping bases, lack of tourism inventory and equipment.
