Data on recent international outbreak of infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome resulted from coronavirus which is characterized by fever and unspecific respiratory symptoms are given. To diagnose this disease the presence of corresponding clinical manifestations in a patient and contact with infection source are necessary. It is stressed that all efforts should be made to exclude and reveal other disease which can explain this infection. It is necessary to provide therapy and nursing as well as empirical prescription of antibiotics active in relation to usual bacteria causing outhospital diseases of respiratory tract. This infection is spread by drops but other methods of communication can not be excluded. Control of its spread is performed by usual antiepidemic measures, but source of initiation of serious acute respiratory syndrome, its stability in environment, in fluid of human organism as well as possibility of conservation in people are unknown. |
