The paper is devoted to the global tendencies in modern Russian written speech. At the present time Russian written speech is largely determined by the e-mail communication. The forms which were developed in the virtual communication are actively penetrating into the prior system of written communication and compete with the traditional ones. These processes are closely connected with the activation of ordinary metalanguage consciousness: the new forms of written speech contrast with the old ones and, as a result, a lot of written speech issues become the object of Russian speakers metalanguage consciousness. Among such issues are the reflections connected with the stylistic orthological aspect of written speech. These reflections are the main object of the study. We focus on increasing positions of the written colloquial speech, penetration of the oral colloquial elements into the written discourse, enlarging variability in the written speech, creation of new normative forms. These processes are analyzed through their reflection in the ordinary metalanguage consciousness. Tendencies in the Russian graphics, spelling and punctuation are treated as a particular manifestation of global tendencies in the modern written speech. The article deals with the tendency to deactualization of the written colloquial speech norms which are not directly connected with the communicative values. The written colloquial speech flows alongside with the natural communicative forms borrowed from the sound speech. It joins sound speech in the sphere of suggestive functioning of the written language. Forming colloquial written speech as an independent communicative system leads to the specific written bilingualism in orthological terms: while literary speech marks itself as strictly following the canonical norms, rigid requirement of uniformity, colloquial written speech is characterized by greater liberalism and subjectivity and, as a result, it has a greater degree of variability. The most important antinomy in the process of forming written colloquial speech is the antinomy ''communicative pragmatic function versus cultural symbolic function'' with the latter prevailing. Spelling norms turn out to be more stable in the ordinary metalanguage consciousness in terms of preserving cultural symbolic values. |
