Today, food consumption includes not only the need for energy and nutrients but also the pleasure element taken from food. This pleasure factor is influenced by taste, starvation, nutritional experiences, hormones and endocannabinoid systems. Various effects of these factors on the individual affect the individual's pleasure and consumption behavior. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the food intake of university students and their hunger due to pleasure. The sample of the study was determined by random sampling method and was conducted with 275 university students. In the study, descriptive information of individuals, some anthropometric measurements, quantified food consumption frequency, Modified Yale Food Addiction Scale Version 2.0 (mYFAS 2.0), Power of Food Scale-PFS and Palatable Eating Motives Scale-PEMS were questioned using face to face questionnaire technique. The average age of the individuals was determined as 21.5±1.5 year. The mean scale scores of PFS applied to the individuals were over 2.5, the presence of hedonic hunger due to food power was detected but the average of PEMS scale scores was below 2.5 and the presence of motivational hedonic hunger was not detected. In the hedonic hunger eating addiction activity, 97.8% of the individuals did not have food addiction but in individuals with food addiction, moderate food addiction was determined as 16,7% and severe food addiction was 83,3%.
