This paper describes an experiment designed to study the effect of providing a user of VOICE recognition equipment with feedback concerning how well the voice recognizer is interpreting the user's voice commands. The results indicated that users, who were preconditioned with no feedback obtained better recognition performance when they were provided with more feedback. Users who were preconditioned with a lot of feedback degraded in performance when feedback information was taken away from them.
