The Prior Virtual Lab is an online research collaboration which aims totranscribe and make public manuscripts, notes and letters by (or sent to)the logician and philosopher Arthur N. Prior (1914-1969). This articleexplores and discusses the Danish Prior Internet Resources (PIR), whichthe Prior Virtual Lab is part of, and argues that it constitutes a VirtualResearch Environment (VRE). The article also argues that a significantchallenge for future work with the PIR is applying the knowledge of theiHumanist. In particular, we shall argue that part of what is requiredwhen moving into the digital humanities is a shift from a needy-userparadigm (emphasizing search for missing information) to an explorabilityparadigm (which emphasizes serendipity). |
