| Popis: | The Association for the Liberation of Vilnius constantly proclaimed: the occupation of the capital threatens all Lithuanian peoples. Thus it might be said that multiculturality of Vilnius is not the invention of present-day cosmopolitans who reject narrow nationalism. Multicultural aspects of Vilnius were stressed by the state authorities and public activists – Vilnius had to be liberated because it was a multicultural city and variety of its population was threatened by Polish policy. A hypothesis might be made: during several occupations we forgot the fact that Lithuania was created not on the basis of narrow nationalism. |
