Possibilities for evaluating the style of creativity and problem solving using M.J. Kirton's test on adaption-innovation

Popis: Straipsnyje aprašoma M.J. Kirton adaptyvumo novatoriškumo vertinimo metodika, kuri, kaip teigia jos kūrėjas, gali būti naudinga psichologams, vadybininkams, edukologams ir kitiems socialinių mokslų specialistams, susiduriantiems su komandinio darbo, konfliktų sprendimo, pokyčių valdymo problemomis. Aptariamos šios metodikos galimybės, jos palyginamos su kitomis kūrybingumo vertinimo metodikomis. Taip pat analizuojami empirinio tyrimo duomenys, išryškinantys kai kuriuos šios metodikos ypatumus bei jos taikymo Lietuvoje problemas. The aim of the present study was to investigate the possibility to measure individual differences in creativity, problem solving and decision-making using the Kirton Adaption-Innovation Inventory (KAI). 193 Kaunas University of Technology students completed a preliminary Lithuanian form of the test. Statistical analysis of the data has shown that the internal reliability of the preliminary Lithuanian form of the inventory is sufficient (the Cronbach Alpha for the responses was .85). Distribution of the scores is close to a normal curve. Distribution of the inventory items over the possible scoring range has shown that most of them discriminate according to their individual difference quite well.
