Popis: 2010 m. rudenį Lietuvos dailės muziejaus XX a. II p. - XXI a. pr. lietuvių grafikos rinkinys praturtėjo vertinga kolekcija. Žymaus vyresniosios kartos grafiko Leono Lagausko (1928-2010) sesuo Irena Lagauskaitė padovanojo muziejui didžiąją gausaus šio menininko kūrybinio palikimo dalį. Įspūdinga dovana, kurią sudaro daugiau kaip 750 eksponatų, dar kartą įtikinamai paliudijo Leono Lagausko - išskirtinio talento piešėjo ir estampo meistro, klasikinės grafikos technikos (oforto) tradicijų puoselėtojo - šlovę. Publikacijoje aptariamas dailininko kūrybos savitumas, svarbiausi jos etapai, žymiausi kūriniai, jų ciklai. In the autumn of 2010, the Lithuanian graphic collection of the Lithuanian Art Museum of the second half of the XX century - early XXI century was enriched by a collection of high artistic value. Irena Lagauskaitė, a sister of Leonas Lagauskas (1928-2010), a famous graphic artist of the older generation, presented the museum with most of this artist's rich creative legacy. The impressive gift consisting of more than 750 exhibits once again convincingly demonstrated the gloty of Leonas Lagauskas, a draughtsman and print artist with exceptional talent and a promoter of classical graphic technique (etching) traditions. This was an artist who loved Vilnius very much and managed to capture its beauty in cycles of multidimensional city panoramas. He also was a virtuoso draughtsman who created a large and memorable gallery of portraits of his contemporaries. The academic drawing basics acquired during studies at the Lithuanian State Art Institute (1949-1952) and later at Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin (1952-1958) and later consolidated during daily exercises enabled Lagauskas t o clearly stand out from other Lithuanian graphic artists. The fact that the collection of the Lithuanian Art Museum was enriched with such a large and valuable collection of Lagauskas' works was a reason for organising a large exhibition of this artist's prints and drawings at the museum at the start of 2011. Over 220 prints and drawings reflecting all periods of his creative work were selected for the exhibition. They provided an opportunity t o revive a broad and slightly forgotten period of Lithuanian graphic history at the exhibition and remind art lovers and connoisseurs of the works of the talented but modest and self-critical artist who had withdrawn from exhibition activities in the last decade of this life. The exhibition was expanded with little known moments of the artist's "creative cuisine", namely drawings and sketches, cliches o f works and photographs from the family archive. The author of the publication reveals the originality of the artist's works and briefly presents Lagauskas' retrospective exhibition entitled "Prints. Drawings. Works of 1954-2009" held at LAM Radvilų Palace on 17 February - 8 May 2011.
