Popis: The purpose of the research is to analyse the features of the transformation of folk songs in the repertoire of the Stanislav Pavliuchenko Ukrainian Folk Choir. Methods. The article is based on a musical and theoretical analysis of the repertoire of the Ukrainian Folk Choir. The article, along with general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, generalisation), uses cross-cultural and systematic analysis, making it possible to characterise the transformation processes of Ukrainian folk songs holistically. Methods of processing musical material are aimed at preserving the features of the original folklore source. The methodological basis of the article is based on scientific and theoretical principles and research of Ukrainian musicologists, who outlined the specifics of the appeal to folklore in Ukrainian practice. Results. An analysis of folk songs included in the repertoire of the Stanislav Pavliuchenko Ukrainian Folk Choir shows a single dominant trend in the transformation of musical material. In particular, there is a desire to preserve the structure, intonation, scale system of folk songs. When choosing the type of part leading, preference is given to the third doubling, which is inherent in folklore polyphony. At the same time, there is a desire to create a type of drama with the help of alternating choral groups and singing of soloists, in which the artistic and symbolic meanings of the song will be even brighter. Thus, it can be noted that the songs from the repertoire of the Ukrainian Folk Choir, although different from the authentic samples, their modification is aimed at preserving traditional forms of music. Scientific novelty. It is the first analysis of the peculiarities of interpretation of folk song material in the repertoire of the S. Pavliuchenko Ukrainian folk choir.
