Popis: This publication describes how journalism students from KNUKiM (KNUCA) were among the first to join the nationwide initiative to create a martyrology of the fallen heroes of the recent Russian-Ukrainian war. The leading platform for the publication of student texts was the all-Ukrainian weekly "Slovo Prosvity", with which KNUKIM signed a creative cooperation agreement. The students wrote their essays based on creative exercises while studying the subjects "Basics of Journalism", "Genres of Journalism" and " Basics of Editing". The methodology for performing such exercises was borrowed by the article author during repeated research internships to study the teaching of journalism disciplines in Western universities. The systematic publication of the best examples of texts based on the exercises "Stars in the puddles of everyday life", "It's no concern of mine", "About swan loyalty and human meanness", etc., and their active dissemination through network platforms led to the emergence of the “Knights of the Truthful Word” social movement among creative students. The initiative has been noticed abroad. In Italy, people initiated a collection of monetary rewards for talented students. By publishing the best examples from the creative exercise "Heroes do not die if they are remembered" and telling about this initiative in the pages of the academic journal "Ukrainian Information Space", the author expresses the belief that one day such texts will be analysed by future journalism researchers. And for today's readers, it is an irrefutable document of our bloody and, at the same time, hopeful era. It is a part of a completely new, in the realities of post oligarchic national journalism, clean and honest, truthful and patriotic information front, which is confidently held by well-known journalists and those who are making their first but confident and effective steps in our profession.
