| Popis: | The release of bilingual (Ukrainian and Romanian) two-volume edition “Pages of Romanian Shevchenkiana” (Pagini ale Şevchenkianej din România) 2016–2017 in the publishing house RCR EDITORIAL (Bucharest) is a unique cultural, artistic, scientific phenomenon, carried out mainly by the efforts of Bucharest University and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University Honorary Professor Ivan Reboshapka. It was he who studied sources, organized texts, prepared prefaces, did translations, wrote summaries, notes and comments on a large array of scientific and publisistic Shevchenkiana in Romania, which was held later than in many other European countries, long after Taras Shevchenko death, in 1894. If there was no creative, scientific and civilian impulses of Professor I. Reboshapka, his inspiration, the anxiety and the desire to complete one of the most important life missions, I think, series of articles and investigations would not appear in the Romanian Ukrainian language magazine “Nash Golos” on the occasion of the National Poet 200th birth anniversary; there also would not be an ordered and systematic edition sponsored by the Union of Ukrainians in Romania. It is obvious that this publication can not answer all inquiries even concerning Romanian Shevchenkiana (this is an array of texts about one thousand three hundredths pages!), but we hope that our publication will serve to, at least, partly complement of European and world scientific heritage of Shevchenko studies. |
