In the line of Ukrainian information space protection from the imposition of Russian myths about the figure of Yaroslav the Wise, was conducted comparative analysis of the approaches of Ukrainian and Russian historians to clarifying his role in state-building and development of princely Ukraine, covered the basic directions of its falsifications and distortions based on the methodology of historiographic comparativism. It has been shown that in Russian historical science and propaganda since times of V. Tatishchev, M. Karamzin, M. Pogodin, S. Solovyov and others, to date, Moscow’s claims to Kyiv’s heritage are substantiated, the role of Grand Prince of Kyiv in Ukrainian statehood formation is denied, his image is constructed as "Collector of Rus lands" and one of the concept sponsors of colonialist policy for the expansion of the Moscow kingdom territory and creation of "Rus centralized state". The glorification of Yaroslav the Wise military activity as "Conqueror of other nations", one-sided and biased assessments of his contribution to the development of Kyiv Rus State legal bases, reforming the system of government and public administration are refuted. Exposed the silence motives in the modern Russian historical science of the Grand Prince role in formation and development of ancient Ukrainian culture, writing, education and spirituality, which is interpreted as the formation of "Russian culture" and "Russian Orthodoxy". Some new scientific approaches concerning interdisciplinary research and source problems and further debunking of the most common falsifications of the prince’s image and his activities, overcoming ideological stereotypes and myths spread in the Ukrainian information space as a component of Russia’s hybrid war against Ukraine are outlined. |
