Popis: Journalist and writer Mecdi Sadreddin Sayman has been the Ankara correspondent of the newspaper İkdam for many years. Mecdi Sadreddin, one of the master journalists of the period, attended the 2nd Term Lausanne Conference held between April 23 and July 17, 1923, of theLausanne Peace Agreement signed on July 24, 1923. Mecdi Sadreddin, who was invited to the meeting chaired by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk at Uşşakîzâde Muammer Bey's mansion in Göztepe on January 22, 1924, witnesses the Lausanne Peace Agreement, an important turning point in the history of the Turkish Republic. Sayman also has important works in the field of literature. Bir İdam Mahkûmu ile Mülakat, Kanlı Eldiven and Belalı Murat are his long stories. Interviews of the Sayman with four important poets and writers of the period, such as Hüseyin Rahmi, Celal Sâhir, Aka Gündüz and Ahmed Hikmet, were published in a book called Sevdiklerimiz -1-. Cennet Hanım is Sayman's only novel. It is a great deficiency that there is no study in Turkish literature about Mecdi Sadreddin Sayman, who is so busy with the press and publishing life and has literary works. The novel of Cennet Hanım is remarkable in terms of both its fiction, its transmission of life and its functioning of human relations. Cennet Hanım is a novel about the sacrifices of a mother who dedicates her life to her child, the loves of a young man in the grip of death, and the regrets of an irresponsible father, and presents all of these over a period of twenty-five years. Although the work takes its name from Cennet Hanım, Cennet Hanım's son Bülent is more prominent in the novel. The fact that the third part of the novel is completely devoted to Feridun Bey shows that the work is shaped by taking three people in the center. The characters in Mecdi Sadreddin's novel Cennet Hanım are constantly pushing the limits of life and wandering around the shores of life. At this point, the author/narrator argues that the limits of life should be pushed so that the living space is not narrowed, and his senses and perceptions are not dulled with the scenes he fictionalizes in the novel.
