Introduction: general medical theses are research that contributes to the development of knowledge; yet they often remain in the gray literature. The objective of this work is to study the rate of valorization of the theses and its determinants. Materials and methods: descriptive study of general medical theses held at the University Paris Descartes between 2012 and 2015. The search for valorization (publication in an indexed or non-indexed journal, presentation in congress, thesis price, and citation) made on: Medline via PubMed, Google Scholar, Google, Exercer magazine, congress programs. We carried out a descriptive analysis of the theses and then a comparative analysis of two groups: valorized theses and not valorized theses. Results: we collected 377 theses, the average age at defense was 29.3 years old, and a majority was women (79%). One hundred and eleven theses (29.4%) were valorized, 35 theses (9.3%) were published in an indexed journal. The comparative analysis found a significant link with the director's membership in the General Practice Department (50.4 vs 30.1-p |
