Popis: | Congenital CMV is a major cause of neurological and sensory impairment in children. Objective - Description of the symptomatology and radiological semiology of infected fetuses in the second trimester of pregnancy; assessment of the prevalence and neonatal and long-term prognosis of fetuses with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and small for gestational age birth weight (SGA). Material and Method - Monocentric retrospective study including patients referred for CMV seroconversion in the second trimester of pregnancy with a positive CMV viral load in amniotic fluid and a known neonatal outcome. Results - 111 fetuses had positive amniocentesis for CMV, 33 of them after second trimester seroconversion (29.7%). 21.2% of the fetuses were symptomatic at birth but none were long-term symptomatic. Radiological semiology, essentially composed of extracerebral signs, was a prognostic factor for birth symptomatology in univariate analysis. In utero, fetuses with IUGR were significantly more symptomatic at birth than eutrophic fetuses (64.7% vs. 12.1%, p |
