Background: the initial visit for Early Medical Abortion (EMA) at home can be lengthy and heavy. The International Federation of Professional Abortion and Contraception Associates developed a short animated video to improve the delivery of information to women requesting an EMA. The aim of this study was to determine if the women found this video acceptable, informative and useful. Methods: we conducted an interventional quantitative study with 74 women attending for an EMA in a Parisian clinic from March to June 2018. The women were randomised in two groups: a« Video » group (video and consultation) (N=35) and a « Standard » group (only consultation) (N=39). Immediately following the consultation, all women were interviewed by a research doctor with a questionnaire. Results: all women found the video acceptable (100%) and clear (100%). Majority of patients agreed it was helpful (97%).
