Background : Low back pain is the second most common reason for consulting a general practitioner. Since 2019 the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) proposed Complementary and Alternative Medicines (CAM) as second-line treatment in the management of common low back pain. The goal of this study was to describe the use of CAM by GMI and their opinion about them.Method : This was a cross-sectional descriptive study. Interns were recruited via email among those enrolled in the Diploma of Specialized Studies in General Medicine at the University of La Réunion. Data collection was carried out by the mean of a computerized self-questionnaire. Descriptive analysis of the data was carried out with the help of the R® software.Results : The rate of use by the GMI of CAM in common low back pain was of 72.2% (39/54).
