Popis: This bachelor's thesis deals with a perception of physicians in the Czech society. It is investigated with the use of critical discourse analysis. The thesis begins with an Introduction and Methods. The third chapter offers a basic overview of the structure of the Czech health care system, which eventually provides summary of important political factors influencing the health care. The fourth chapter analyzes a union strike Děkujeme, odcházíme, the most important doctors' protest since nineties. The fifth chapter investigates position of female physicians in the Czech Republic, their perception inside the medical community and how this perception contributes to power asymmetry between men and women in health care. Last chapter analyses statements of medical experts during COVID crisis. The point of this chapter to demonstrate how medical experts use their expertise to involve themselves into the broad social debate and how the public perception limits their involvement.
