The author of this theses aims to translate a book called Les grandes dates de l'histoire de France written by André Larané and published in the Librio edition in 2008 from French into Czech. The translation is followed by theoretical part, specifically by annotation of the translation, which includes source text analysis, fictious assignment and overall method of translation, translation problems and typology of translation methods and shifts.
