Popis:	A review of the metazoan parasites of the blue discus (Symphysodon aequifasciatus) is presented. A total of 4 species of metazoan parasites have been reported from this important ornamental fish. The life-cycle of the Asian fish tapeworm Schyzocotyle acheilognathi (Yamaguti, 1934), which is an invasive species distributed globally, was studied under experimental conditions, using the blue discus as the definitive host.
