The present work deals with the personality and the creation of architect Konstantin Sax (1874-1927), active in the first quarter of the 20th century in Čelákovice and its surroundings. After an introduction followed by a chapter aimed at more precise definition of individual life periods that shaped Sax's creative profile and has not been properly processed. The following section, in a short summary, introduces urban development in Čelákovice and approaches the options that the architect have had in the city. The fourth chapter is a catalog of still credited Sax's work, based on partial references in literature, and especially coming from an archival research. It includes both realized and yet preserved bulding, as well as one unrealized, yet for Sax's creative profile significant building. The final chapter defines Sax's creative contribution. |
