The main theme of my bachelor thesis is the use of dialogue in education - the tool for this is philosophical dialogue as used in Philosophy for Children. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the concept of Philosophy for Children is introduced, including some works by the Swiss author Eva Zöller Morf. This approach is complemented by the developmental characteristics of the preschool years and the possibility of supporting the development of moral reasoning and emotional competences to which P4C can contribute. The practical part summarises action research carried out in one kindergarten. It contains a record of five meetings in which the starting point was reading books and reflecting together on the themes of their stories. In the process, the children learned to become aware of various ambiguities and to voice them aloud, while also being able to respond to each other later, to think together and to move the discussions forward. During the conversations they listened to each other and commented factually or less factually on the topic. |
