(in English): This paper deals with the analysis of La Fontaine's work "Les Amours de Psyché et de Cupidon" in the light of galant literature, which spread through 17th century France. To better comprehend this theme, the evolution of the word gallantry, its establishment as a literary movement, and the main traits of galant literature are described. La Fontaine as an author and the general characteristics of the novel Psyché are considered. The traits of gallantry are applied on La Fontaine's work to create space for analytical arguments. Of which the concentrations are the analysis of the character Psyché, humour, galant love between the heroes, and the narration and composition of the text. The aim of this work is to show how La Fontaine worked with galantry and what makes an author, known mainly for his Fables, a true representative of galant literature. |
