Aim of this thesis, entitled "Stress factors in psychiatric nursing care", was to identify and analyze stress factors appearing in the work of nurses in psychiatric department. After this, describe their impact on the quality of nursing care from the personal perspective of nurses. Next point was find out how many information have nurses about consequences of long-term effects of stress and find out, which personal resources they are using to manage the stress. This work is divided into theoretical and practical part. This bachelor thesis find out, if are nurses on psychiatric department stressed and which stressfull situations are the most frequent. We find, if these situations affect the quality of their work and determine, how they fight with them or how they prevent the impacts on the their mental and physical condition. In the theoretical part, we focused to the description of psychiatry and their history. Then, of course, we described the history of education and specifics of nursing care in psychiatric department. Important was the focus on stress in general. We described experiences, which are connected stress, types of stress, symptoms and consequences. Finally, we focused on the possibility of managing stressful situations. In the research part to achieve the aims, we have used the following research questions: Which stress factors exist in the work of nurses in psychiatric department? Which stress factors nurses consider in their work the most frequent? Know the nurses, working in psychiatric department, about consequences of long-term effects of stress factors? Which personal resources, to manage the stress resulting from the work, nurses using in their life? In this bachelor thesis was used method of qualitative research and technique of semistructured interview. The research sample consist of the ten nurses, who work in a psychiatric department in České Budějovice. Method of interview analyssis was used open coding. The research provides a opportunity to insight on stress influence the nurses on psychiatric department. The main finding is that nurses are probably not sufficiently educated in the care of mental health, even though it shows a high level of stress in their everyday working life. The main result of this work is the fact that nurses are exposed stress factors arising from the performance of their work with potential impact on their approach and client care. Our results allow to form an picture of the the questions of relations between stress and nurse, working in of psychiatric department. |
