The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of processing mixed municipal waste in the Czech Republic and the possibilities of diverting biodegradable waste in such a way as to increase the biological stability of the waste deposited in municipal waste landfills and to fulfill the goals of limiting the landfilling of municipal waste as stipulated by the new waste law. At the same time, it deals with the approaches of neighboring countries, which also address the need to reduce the volume of landfilled municipal waste by 2030 in accordance with the requirements of the European Union. In the practical part, five samples of mixed municipal waste are subsequently analyzed and the possibilities of diverting individual components are discussed here.
