Title: Effect of Jiu-Jitsu on children motor development from the perspective of physiotherapy By using Acral coactivation therapy Abstract: This bachelor thesis focuses on the effect of Jiu-Jitsu and Acral coactivation therapy on the motor skills of children of school age. The thesis consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part gives a brief description of motor control, summarizes the research concerning motor skill development of children of school age, and provides a classification of motor skills. The theoretical part also introduces Jiu-Jitsu martial art and Acral coactivation therapy method. The practical part describes a three-month-long collaboration with ten children chosen from a Jiu-Jitsu training group. These ten children were split into two groups. One group practiced solely Jiu-Jitsu while the children from the second group practiced Jiu-Jitsu with added elements of ACT. Motor skill tests and ACT acras diagnoses were conducted at the beginning and end of a set time period. The goal of this thesis is an evaluation of the results of the Jiu-Jitsu and Acral coactivation therapy exercise conducted over a three month period.
