This bachelor thesis focuses on the flood as a major component of the development in the town of Písek. The thesis aims to analyse the extent of the damage caused by the flood, the financial costs of the reconstruction, and the financial sources for reconstruction. It also explores the flood control and anti-flooding measures taken since the incident. This view of the town contributes to the understanding of the flood as a major component of its development. It describes the chosen locality from demographical and geographical points of view, including the probability of flooding in the given locality and its frequency. The methodology of the work consists of the analysis of information gained from public sources and their comparison. Data was provided by the town of Písek or taken from interviews with the town's representatives. The work interprets the importance of floods for further development and improvement proposals. |
