Popis: | The bachelor's thesis deals with the representations of female characters in selected detective novels written by Agatha Christie in order to find out whether and eventually how it reflects the historical reality in terms of the position of women in contemporary British society. The subject of research is works originating from various periods of the writer's authorship, namely from the 1930s and the 1970s. The focus of the work is the analysis of female characters in the books Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, Nemesis and Elephants Can Remember focusing on the believability of the characters and the importance of their role in the story. Particular attention should be paid to the issue of the position of women in society and shifts in the perception of women's issues in the examined period. |
