| Popis: | This bachelor thesis includes a translation of four chapters of the book Veganismus written originally in German by Christian Koeder in 2014 and a commentary. The book aims at providing a complete overview of veganism, with the author presenting motives for a vegan lifestyle, possible health consequences of an unbalanced plant-based diet as well as animal rights movements. The following chapters have been chosen for this thesis: Tierliebe, Schadstoffe, Allergien and Ersetzen. The commentary consists of a potential fictional commission, a translation analysis of the source text, a translation strategy and the description of translation problems and translation shifts. The theoretical part is supported by examples from both the source text and the translation.
