| Popis: | This diploma theses deals with particular example of framing in two Czech online media. The analysis examines how Czech online media covered elementary school education in the Czech Republic during the first wave of coronavirus pandemic in 2020. The theoretical part of this thesis is based on Robert Etman's concept of framing. In the theoretical part, I describe the situation of the Czech education system in March 2020 which was affected by the coronavirus pandemic. I explain the actions taken by the government and the consequences of school closures. The main research question asks what kind of aspects of the affected education system were selected and emphasized by each of the analysed media. The aim of the thesis is to find out what frames each media used and whether there were differences in the approach to the topic between the editors of the two media. |
