Popis: This work is evaluating perceived values of marriage in Czech Republic and their implications to the role of a social worker. It is divided into three chapters, the first is focusing on some indicators of general quality of marriages, namely the number of people choosing cohabitation over marriage, number of divorces and children produced out of wedlock. It is also describing the value of marriage in Czech population as witnessed in sociological survey. The second chapter is defining marriage from theological perspective. That is marriage as portrayed in The Bible and sacramental marriage. The last chapter defines the goals and values of social work in conjunction with marriage, defining the role and personality of a practicing social worker. It is also covering the topic of ethical issues and ethical codex of social workers.
